Notable Changes during the Time-Skip:
Keigo had always been rather timid, and to some extent a bit of a coward. One of the reasons he became a shinobi was to leave the house and become more than just "little brother". His reasons for becoming a shinobi weren't exactly the best. He also feared letting people down to the extent that he would make decisions based on what would make people happier. An example being during the invasion of the Windmill. Keigo would make sure his orders were "acceptable" to everyone else. He was afraid of having to lead people, afraid of the possibility of having to take risk or possibly make sacrifices, and displeasing the higher ups. It went smoothly, but having all those feelings was something he'd often have on not all, but a fair amount of missions. Apart from that, he also lacked initiative and had no real or notable talent in being a shinobi at all, save intelligence.
During the three years he has gained a lot more self confidence and drive to become the best he can be despite upcoming challenges, this being the result of certain events before the time-skip of three years. There was the loss of his immediate family during the attack of the masked men. When the squad from the north returned home, the first thing he did after helping Tomoe, Kei, and Masumi (his elder sister) out a bit was rush home. Masumi, had given him a nod of approval before letting him leave on his own. The damage had already been done and never witnessed anything, but the majority of the house was destroyed when he got there. The rest of the family were down in the basement. Apparently Masumi had already known what had happened and had put them down there, letting him leave from battle knowing he would get distracted if all that was in his mind was finding and helping them. He stayed in the basement during the rest of the battle.
The entire ordeal made him regret his first reason for wanting to become a shinobi just for the sake of having the freedom to do as he pleased. His family ran a small tea-shop and he found the family business boring and uneventful. Now to an extent he sort of misses the "boring and uneventful" times from before he became a shinobi as well as his late family. Throughout the entire five to six years (before time-skip) he's been a shinobi he's come to the realization that there's much more to being one then he had anticipated. After time-skip this is only intensified. He now understands that it's a huge responsibility and he should have been less concerned about pleasing others and being a wimp, then just doing his best and improving himself as a person and Shinobi. Perhaps he could have made his group's trek to the Windmill go by quicker, perhaps he could have made it home earlier, and perhaps he could have prevented the deaths of some if not all his family members. If her were stronger or wiser he thinks, but of course one can't change the past so he doesn't dwell on it. So, now he knows that there will always be something worth protecting and to never lose sight of whats important.
He basically holds the same personality with the aception of having a slightly smaller tempter and being more frustrated with himself at times. Keigo is normally bashful, cheery, and uplifting which at times can be mistaken as nievity. He strives to make himself a better person every day and to not be as complaisant.
Important Events during the Time-Skip:
- Keigo took part in the brawl during the first year, and used it as a way to sort of vent. After he returned home Masumi was very disappointed in him and kicked him out of their apartment. They got in a pretty bad argument and said things they probably shouldn't have of course. Out of anger, Masumi told him that "It's people like that who get everyone killed, all there mindless fighting and violence! People like you." and Keigo then blames her for their family's death since she was the only one of the two who knew and witnessed exactly what happened. He thought about asking Tomoe if he could stay at her place, but thought it was a horrible idea and never asked. He stayed away for about two months before they both apologized to each other. During this time he spent a lot of time training and that was the year he chose to join the medical specialists.
Additional Information:
- Keigo became very close friends with Shun, and is known to always confide in him with just about anything. He treasures his friendship and the music box given to him three years ago and keeps it in a special place in his closet.
- He has also become very close to Kazue, and likes to be someone she can confide in due to their clans being on the same page as allies.
- His feelings for a Tomoe have grown, but political and clan turmoil has him unsure of how to handle or deal with it. He is a little distraught at the lack of effort on her side to at least find some time to talk, so he often avoids her not willing to listen to what she might say. So he watches form a distance, hoping that her dedication to her clan doesn't change her too much or their friendship. He feels she must have more important things to deal with now.
While in his desquise he never speaks ( because that would just be a dead givaway), wears a long brown wig that, plenty of make-up, and a classy Kimono. With this identity he is known as Nao.
-His grandmother moved in with him and his sister mostly because of what happened and especially to spend time with her great grand child. She is pretty good company to have for the most part and is very supportive. Also his sister's boyfriend and Waji's father live with them as well. He and Keigo get along quite well and he sees him as another member of the family, although it hadn't been that way before time-skip when he and his sister were just dating.
